EPCOT CENTRE

EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. It was originally conceived
in 1966 so even before Disney world was created. The idea of the park was to take all of the
advances in science of the time and experiment. The biggest setback of the centre is its size. It
is twice as big as the magic kingdom and really rough going on the feet. There are some things
that really shouldn't be missed if you can't get around the whole thing or lose interest in the
whole affair. First on the list is the geosphere, which is completely round and 180 ft. The
essence of the centre is Future world that presents the original concept of the park with the
history and theories of advance in areas such as communications, energy, agriculture and
transportation. Probably the place to end your Epcot visit on any evening is in the world
showcase that portrays eleven different countries one on each street. Here you will find the
best restaurants in all of Walt Disney World; the Japanese is to die for. This area is also where
you can get the best views of the night time sound and light show that closes down the park.
As with all of the parks the EPCOT centre would not be complete without its attractions so have
a go at test driving a car of the future on TEST TRACK or enjoy the simulated thrill of honey I
shrunk the audience or enjoy the traipsing through the immune system in body wars.
